About FANNY DIAZ

FANNY DIAZ BIOGRAPHY
Since as far back as I can remember I always loved drawing and creating everything I could with my hands. My family was interested and involved in art and my mother and sisters taught me how to do many different crafts. I never imagined that my love for art would eventually become my profession, although I am so grateful that it happened that way.

I formally studied Architecture and Fine Art in Venezuela where my artistic abilities were expanded into painting, graphic design, photography, sketching and more.

After I finished my formal studies, I worked as an Architect and simultaneously worked as an Art Director on TV commercials.
In1998 I moved to the United States and I began working as a graphic designer which I did for ten years.

Currently I work as a freelance artist, which affords me more time to work on my own art. I am much less constrained and am able to explore my creative style through many different mediums.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I had been experimenting with different methods to express myself through paintings and my favorite way to do it is with Oil on canvas. This media gives me the freedom to paint the subject I select exactly the way I want to paint it. Sometimes I like to produce small format paintings with color pencils, markers and pencil and ink. In the past I also worked with pastels, collages and mixed media pieces. My inspiration sources vary between religion, personal experiences, nature, and anything that awakes my sensibility. I am frequently paint mentally while I go for a walk, no matter where I'm or what I see, is a personal way to practice before consider what subject I will like to paint.

I am a very happy person and I like to share my happiness with the world through my paintings and artwork. Through my artwork my hope is to transmit happiness, brightness, light, power, strength and beauty…these are both my inspiration as well as my goals.
